The Bachelor of Pharmacy course is a four-year degree program that aims to enhance & develop the skills provided in the D.Pharm course while simultaneously meeting the other demands of the pharmaceutical industry & profession that the diploma course cannot incorporate or fulfill.

Course Overview
 

Bachelor of Pharmacy is a four-year duration undergraduate program in the field of pharmacy which is considered a prerequisite for the practice of pharmacist or chemist. The course helps students to become acquainted with the production and manufacturing of drugs and their distribution across the country. Various options open once students have completed the B Pharmacy course such as that of Pharmacist, Drug Inspector, Drug Counsellor, Pharmaceutical Scientist, Quality Control Associate, Clinical Research Associate, and Medical writer. The pharmaceutical industry is an ever-growing industry, in which there is always scope for growth and development.

  • B.Pharm Course Regulations 

Duration

  • Four (4) years course for direct entry students & three (3) years for lateral entry students.

  • The curriculum is prescribed by PCI and has been divided into 8 semesters it includes lectures, tutorials, practicals, seminars, projects, etc. in addition to industrial training and educational tour, etc. as defined in the schemes of instructions and examinations and executive instructions issued by the University (RGUHS) from time to time.

Course Eligibility

1. First year B. Pharm (Direct Entry): Candidate shall have passed the 10+2 examination conducted by the respective state/central government authorities recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 examination by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) with English as one of the subjects and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (P.C.M) and or Biology (P.C.B / P.C.M.B.) as optional subjects individually. Any other qualification approved by the PharmacyCouncil of India as equivalent to any of the above examinations.

2. B. Pharm lateral entry (to third semester): A pass in D. Pharm. course from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

The career path of B.Pharm graduates takes them to assume roles like:

  • Industrial Pharmacist (Manufacturing, Packaging, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance)

  • Hospital and Community Pharmacist (Dispensing of Medicines and Counselling of Patients)

  • Sales and Distribution Executive (Detailing to Doctors and Bulk Distribution of Medicines)

  • Medical  Representative (Pharmaceutical  Product Promotion)

  • Drug Inspector (monitors a drug's safety, utility performance, and consistency) 

  • Academic Pharmacist (Training Diploma in Pharmacy Students). 

  • Higher Education (M.Pharm, PharmD (PB), M.Tech, MPH, MBA, etc)

Course Fees

COLLEGE FEES:

  1. First Year: One lakh rupees (Rs. 1,00,000) per annum (academic year - two semesters);

  2. Second Year: One lakh rupees (Rs. 1,00,000) per annum (academic year - two semesters);

  3. Third Year: One lakh rupees (Rs. 1,00,000) per annum (academic year - two semesters);

  4. Fourth Year: One lakh rupees (Rs. 1,00,000) per annum (academic year - two semesters)

  5. Total fees for the duration of the course: Four lakh rupees (Rs.4,00,000)

Examination Fees are NOT included in the above-mentioned fee structure, they are to be added separately.
